Privacy policy

Effective October 20, 2026

Dawnfold collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. Nothing about you or how you use the app is sent to us.

Your alarm settings

Your alarm settings sync through your own iCloud private database, using Apple’s CloudKit. That database belongs to your iCloud account. We cannot read it. If iCloud is turned off, your settings stay on your device.

Alarms

Dawnfold uses Apple’s AlarmKit to schedule the backup alarm on your device.

Flashlight

For the optional flashlight boost, Dawnfold turns the rear flashlight on and off. The camera is never used, and no capture session is ever started.

Motion sensor

Dawnfold reads the motion sensor (CoreMotion) on your device to tell whether the phone is lying flat. This reading stays on your device. It is not stored or sent anywhere.

In-app purchase

Dawnfold Pro is sold through the App Store, and Apple handles the purchase. We do not receive your payment details.

HomeKit

If you turn on HomeKit lamps (Pro), Dawnfold reads the list of lights in your Home so you can pick some, and changes their brightness and color during the sunrise. This happens between your device and your home through Apple’s HomeKit. Dawnfold doesn’t store your home data beyond the IDs of the lamps you picked, and nothing is sent to us.

Children

Dawnfold is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, including children.
